So What’s My Story?

Growing up, my backyard was the sprawling woods of northern Michigan, and man, did I love it.

My Dad and I would hit the trails, trying to name every tree we saw and getting way too excited every time we spotted wildlife.

You see, hunting’s been a thing in my family for ages. My Great-Grandfather Grandfather, and Dad were all big on hunting, especially when it came to ducks and deer.

Dad always drummed it into me: “You kill it, you eat it.”

And to say he was obsessed with duck hunting would be an understatement. The guy was all over Michigan and even had memberships in three different hunt clubs in Canada!

Before I could legally hunt, I was out there with him, turning rye fields, setting up corn feeders, and chilling in the tree stand during bow season.

But it wasn’t until that first duck hunt at 16 that I really got what all the fuss was about.

Then came my first deer hunt, where I found out just how tough it is to drag a deer out of the woods on your own!

Every year, my love for hunting and the great outdoors just keeps getting stronger, along with a real respect for what nature has to give

To me hunting offers the ultimate connection with nature. This is the main reason I decided to dive into blogging

I feel like hunting overall is misunderstood by those who view it from afar, with little to no personal exposure

So the best way to spread the good word is to share my passion. That’s my mission

Maybe it will change a mind or two. Maybe it maybe it won’t. In either case, it’s a deep dive into my experiences, opinions, perspectives, and products that have played a major role in influencing my love for the outdoors. Hope you enjoy!
